Prenatal Massage

Prenatal Massage has been our specialty for more than 13 years and has continually made up at least 85% of our practice; therefore, at Harmony’s Family expecting moms are in the hands of “truly qualified” Prenatal Massage Professionals.

To ensure the comfort and safety of both mom and baby; we use electric massage tables as well as a prenatal cushioning system that allow our clients to lay face down from 13 weeks gestation until full term (in most cases).

Safety & Comfort

Hydration:
To provide our mom & baby clients with the safest care possible we ask that moms come to their pregnancy massage sessions well-hydrate (drinking at least one liter of fluid before arriving).

Illness:
We will decline service to pregnant moms who are experiencing cold or flu-like symptoms, as massage during this time can be dangerous to both mom and her pregnancy. We ask that our expecting moms phone us in advance of their scheduled massage appointment if they are experiencing questionable symptoms and are uncertain if massage is appropriate or safe at the time.

Postnatal Massage

A new mom’s body and spirit will weep with joy to receive this much needed TLC.

A massage scheduled in the immediate postpartum period is perhaps the most therapeutic massage she will ever receive. Muscles are tremendously fatigued and strained as a result of birth (for both vaginal and cesarean section deliveries), and new muscles are being used to both nurture and feed her new baby; special care is given to all these areas of a newly postpartum body.
**Our therapists can provide in-hospital, in-home or in-office sessions.

Safety & Comfort

Birth Recovery:
If you have had a medically uncomplicated vaginal birth you may receive your first postpartum massage as early as two days post birth. If you have had a C-Section birth you must wait a minimum of two weeks before receiving your first postpartum massage. Please let us know if you have had a vaginal or c-section birth when booking your appointment.

Nursing:
Please let us know if you are actively nursing or pumping at the time of your appointment so that we can prepare the massage table especially for you.
